FIRST STEPS
Our First Steps program is 12 weeks long and will introduce the participants to the basics of running through a walk/run program. Starting with a 30 second run/walk interval, we will gradually increase the run portion of the workout throughout the course until we are running/walking at a 10/1 interval for 55 minutes. Participants will also be introduced to the basics of dynamic warmups, nutrition, stretching and technique. Lots of Fun ! Wednesday Evenings.

NEXT STEPS
This 12 week program is designed for the person who is already running with walk breaks and wants to move to a continuous run. The run increments will increase and the walk breaks will decrease to build stamina and endurance to prepare the runner to complete a 10K event comfortably. Wednesday evenings.

CORE STRENGTHENING AND CONDITIONING FOR RUNNERS
This is an off season circuit training program designed to help runners get rid of their weaknesses and condition them to be ready to start training again in the new year. 8 weeks of intense circuit training designed for the runner who wants to improve their running speed, economy, and aerobic power.

Clinic will be outdoors in Assiniboine Park on Saturday mornings.


Sports Physiotherapist Jean Francois Berard from “First Choice Fitness” will be the instructor.

HALF MARATHON AND MARATHON TRAINING
Many personal best times have resulted from our half marathon and full marathon clinics. With today’s busy lifestyles, who has time to run everyday? Our program is a 4 day per week program with a speed workout on Tuesdays, a Tempo run on Thursdays, a Long run on Saturdays, and a cross training day on Sundays. Before starting the Half Marathon Clinic, participants should be able to run 10K comfortably without stopping. Before starting the Full Marathon Clinic, participants should have completed at least one Half Marathon within the last year. The goal of this clinic is to have the participants ready for May 1st, 2012, for whatever your event will be. ( Police Half, Fargo and Manitoba).  Programs will be adjusted to meet each individuals goal race that falls between May 1st - June 20/2012.
